Agua Caliente Cultural Museum
Since time immemorial, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians have called Greater Palm Springs home. Hear their story like never before at the Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza in downtown Palm Springs. Featuring a tribal museum, a state-of-the-art spa and an outdoor Oasis Trail, the Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza is the second largest of its kind in the United States.
The Agua Caliente Cultural Museum is your gateway to the tribe’s past, present, and future. Explore five different exhibits “areas” dedicated to telling the story of the Agua Caliente people, from the native flora and fauna of the Indian Canyons to ancient artifacts, some of which were unearthed during construction of the museum itself. Browse for Native-made art, books, jewelry and clothing in the gift shop. Wander through an Education Garden blooming with brittlebush, creosote and other indigenous plants. And don’t miss the 360-degree animation of the tribe’s creation and migration stories.
Free admission is offered Thursday evenings, 5pm-8pm.
